Syllabus

At the beginning of the class, we will analyse students’ skill levels before deciding which
stage and level we should start teaching.

Our lesson plan focuses on the 5 main stages of swimming. Every stage is broken down
into 2 levels to make it easier for students to learn.

Water confidence (L1) :-  This stage includes learning the fundamentals of swimming which is super important when learning how to swim. The goal of this stage is to train students to be relaxed.

Water confidence (L2) :-  In level 2, students will learn the easiest swimming stroke which is the doggy paddle. The goal of this level is to train students to be able to swim independently in the water.

Freestyle (L1) :-  This stage is placed next after water confidence as it is similar to the doggy paddle in L2 water confidence. In this stage, we will cover the pulling and kicking for freestyle.

Freestyle (L2) :-  In level 2, students will learn how to breathe with freestyle and at this stage, students are entitled to use swim gears to aid in their training.

Backstroke (L1) :-  In this stage, it’s very similar to Freestyle, except it’s done in a reversed position. The goal is to get the student to kick and pull while lying on their back.

Backstroke (L2), :-  We will be using swim gear such as a flipper to aid us in swimming backstroke. The goal is to get students to swim backstroke for at least 50m.

Breaststroke (L1) :-  In this stage, students will learn the basics of breaststroke which include how to kick and pull with a longer rhythm ( 2 kicks, 1 pull ). The goal is for students to swim 15 m.

Breaststroke (L2), :- In level 2, students will learn the proper rhythm in breaststroke. Students will also learn the competitive way to swim breaststroke. The goal is to swim 25 m.

Butterfly (L1) :-  In this stage, students will learn to kick like a dolphin above and under-water. Training gear will be used to aid students in learning such as flipper.

Butterfly (L2) :-  In level 2, students will learn how to the pulling in a butterfly and the correct rhythm. The goal is to swim butterfly for 50m.
